Marble Policy

1. Import is restricted in terms of Interim PIC Procedure of Rotterdam Convention on Prior Informed Consent procedure for hazardous chemicals and pesticides.

2. Import of rough marble blocks will be subject to conditions laid down in Notification No. 64 dated 4th August, 2011.”

Conditions for import of marble.

(A) The following Policy provisions will be applicable for import of Rough Marble Blocks for the financial year 2011-12. This will supersede earlier Policy /Guidelines for issue of import licenses of Rough Marble Blocks.

(B) Attention is invited to EXIM Code Nos. 25151100 and 25151210 indicated in Schedule-1 (Imports) of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items. As per the provisions contained therein, import of Marble and Travertine - Crude or Roughly trimmed and merely cut, by sawing or otherwise, into blocks of a rectangular (including square) shape is restricted and subject to import licensing procedures.

(C) The applications for import license for import of rough marble blocks under the above mentioned EXIM Codes will be considered in the following manner: -

I. Eligibility of the units will be decided based on the following three criteria:

(a) Units who have installed marble gangsaw machine (except 100% EOUs and units in SEZ) on or prior to 31.3.2011. The marble gangsaw machine shall be in the name of the applicant only. No gangsaw on “Lease Basis” shall be considered for the purpose of allocation of import entitlement.

(b) The Units should have been in operation for 5 years on or prior to 31.3.2011.

(c) All eligible units as per (a) above should have cumulative turnover of atleast Rupees Five crores ( Rs 5 Crores) during the 5 years period 2005-06 to 2009-10 irrespective of whether it is from domestic or foreign sources in respect of processed marble slabs/tiles only.

II. Floor Price-

Licenses for import of crude or roughly trimmed marble blocks or merely cut, by sawing or otherwise into blocks of a rectangular (including square) shape shall be subject to a floor price of US$ 325 per Metric Tonne (MT), which shall be endorsed on all licenses.

III. Entitlement:

The total import of Rough Marble Blocks under EXIM Code Nos. 25151100 and 25151210 will be subject to a ceiling of 5 lakh MT for the whole of the licensing year, 2011-12. Eligible units will be entitled for an import license on the basis of cumulative turnover ( indigenous or foreign) of atleast Rupees 5 crores of processed marble slabs/tiles only, over the previous five financial years 2005-06 to 2009-10. The quantity so calculated will however be subject to the overall ceiling of 3000 MT for the first gang saw and 1500 MT for every subsequent gang saw.

IV. Actual User Condition:

All licenses shall be subject to actual user condition. Modalities for submitting hard copies of the applications is attached as Annexure 1 to this notification.

V. Monthly Return

License holders shall file monthly returns regarding imports made by them, to the concerned Regional Authority of DGFT.

The eligible applicants shall send an e-mail at marbleimport2011-dgft@nic.in in the format given as Annexure 2 to this notification indicating their intent to import on the basis of which initial allocation will be made.

Effect of this notification:

Import policy of rough marble blocks for the year 2011-12 has increased the import quota from 3 lakh MT to 5 lakh MT with an MIP of US$ 325 per MT.

3. Import of dolomite and limestone of a size higher than one cubic feet, classified under any Exim Code of this Chapter shall be restricted.

4. Import of Marble, classified under Chapter 25 and 68, from Bhutan shall be subject to a combined annual quota of 3,14,000 10 lakh sq ft (5882 MT). The quota shall come into effect from the date of issue of this Notification and operate on financial year basis. Since the total import of marble from Bhutan during this financial year has already exceeded more than 6 lakh sq. ft., therefore, no import of marble shall be allowed during this financial year i.e. upto 31st March, 2009 immediately and shall operate on a financial year basis. Monitoring and allocation of the quota shall be made by the Government of Bhutan.

5. Import of items under Exim Codes 25151100, 25151210, 25151220, 25151290, 68021000, 68022110, 68022120, 68022190, 68022200, 68029100, 68029200 from Sri Lanka under the India-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (ISFTA) is allowed only through the Port of Kolkata.

In addition to the condition mentioned above, import of these items shall also be subject to all the conditions applicable on imports under ISFTA.

Raw Asbestos as Hazardous Waste

Public Notice No. 95 dated 09 June 1995 issued by Bombay Customs

The Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India has clarified vide their office Memo No. Nil dated 16.5.95 that raw asbestos does not come under purview of Hazardous waste (Management and Handling) Rule, 1989. The same may be treated as virgin raw material unless otherwise certified by the Exporter as wastes. Therefore their prior consent is not required for clearing the consignment.

According to the New Export and Import Policy, 1992-97, the raw asbestos would come under the purview of Rule 18 of the Manufacturer, Storage and Import of Chemicals Rules, 1989. According to these Rules the importer shall before 30 days, but not later than the date of import furnish details specified in Rule 18 regarding such imports to the concerned authorities specified in the Schedule 5 of these Rules.

All the Importer/CHA are informed to follow the aforesaid provision with regard the import of raw chrysotile asbestos.

Licensing Procedure for Rough Marble Blocks Quota of 3 Lakh MT for the Year 2010-2011

Sub: Invitation for applications for Import licences for Rough Marble Blocks – Issue of quota for the financial year 2010-11 as per Policy Notified vide Notification No. 36/2009-14 dated 31-3-2010.

Attention is invited to DGFT Notification No. 36/2009-2014 dated 31st March, 2010 on the subject mentioned above.

2.     Applications are invited for issue of import licences for rough marble blocks only for the financial year 2010-11 from the eligible applicants as per the Marble Import Policy announced vide Notification No.36/2009-2014 dated 31st March, 2010. The quota for the year shall be 3 lakh MT.

3.     The applicants may submit their application, in the relevant Aayaat Niryaat Form, along with the documents prescribed under Policy Circular No. 20 dated 16.7.2008, Policy Circular No. 25 dated 8.8.2008 and Policy Circular No. 12 dated 23.10.2009. However, the time limits and relevant years mentioned in the three Policy Circulars would be modified so as to be in consonance with the Notification No. 36/2009-2014 dated 31st March, 2010. Accordingly:-

(a)   The established Marble gangsaw in the Unit should be in the name of the Unit as on or prior to 23.10.2009, as certified by State Industry Department (District Industry Centre). The gang saw should also not be ‘on Lease’ from any other party. The marble gangsaw machine should have linear movement and should have minimum 60 steel blades impregnated with diamond segments and be used only for cutting marble blocks into slabs;

(b)   SSI/SIA Registration Certificate should show the Unit being in operation on or prior to 31.3.2004;

(c)   The list of equipments / capital goods (other than Marble gangsaw) set up by the applicant in the Unit for processing marble slabs / tiles should be prior to 31.3.2004, as per Balance Sheet as on 31.3.2004, duly certified by a Chartered Accountant;

(d)   Income Tax Return for the year 2003-04 indicating processing of marble by the Unit duly certified by a Chartered Accountant;

(e)   CA Certificate indicating indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs / tiles of years 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09; and

(f)    A copy of Chartered Accountant certified statement of accounts, filed along with Balance Sheet to Income Tax authorities for each of the years i.e. 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 (in order to prove the indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs / tiles of atleast Rs. 1 crore in each of the 5 years).

4.     The last date for receipt of application shall be 9th April, 2010. The applications may be submitted to the concerned Regional Authority (RA) of DGFT.

5.     This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

Rough Marble Import by SIL Holders

Sub: Guidelines for import of Rough Marble Blocks/Slabs for the year 2009-10.

Attention is invited to Policy Circular No.12 (RE-08)/2004-2009 dated 27.6.2008 on the subject mentioned above. Representations have been received from trade and industry, who have been granted licences for import of rough marble blocks/slabs for the year 2008-09 and for the first three months of the year 2009-10 under the aforementioned Policy Circular. The representations request for release of the balance quota of 75% for the year 2009-10.

2.     The representations have been examined and with the approval of competent authority, it is informed that it has been decided to grant another 25% of the quota to the erstwhile licencees under the aforementioned Circulars.

3.     Accordingly, all licence holders of rough marble blocks/slabs issued to them under the provisions of Policy Circular No.12 (RE-08)/2004-2009, may apply to concerned RA of DGFT for enhancing the quantity in their licence by upto another 25% of the quantity granted to them in the year 2008-09. The import of enhanced quantity shall be subject to all the conditions applicable on import of rough marble blocks/slabs indicated in relevant Circulars.

4.     This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

Rough Marble Import by Gang Saw Unit – Balance Quota of 1.6 Lakh MT for the Year 2009-10

Sub: Import licences for Rough Marble Blocks/Slabs – Issue of balance quota for the year 2009-10 as per New Policy.

Attention is invited to DGFT Notification No. 15/2009-2014 dated 15th October, 2009 and amendment Notification No. 16 dated 23.10.2009 on the subject mentioned above.

2.     Applications are invited for issue of import licences for rough marble blocks / slabs for the balance of the year 2009-10 from the eligible applicants as per the New Policy announced on 15th October, 2009. The balance quota for the year shall be 1.6 lakh MT.

3.     The applicants may submit their application, in the relevant Aayaat Niryaat Form, along with the documents prescribed under Policy Circular No. 20 dated 16.7.2008 and Policy Circular No. 25 dated 8.8.2008. However, the time limits and relevant years mentioned in the two Policy Circulars would be modified so as to be in consonance with the Notification No. 15/2009-2014 dated 15th October, 2009 (and amendment Notification No. 16 dated 23.10.2009). Accordingly:-

(a)   The established gang saw in the Unit should be in the name of the Unit as on date of this Circular, as certified by State Industry Department (District Industry Centre). The gang saw should also not be ‘on Lease’ from any other party;

(b)   SSI/SIA Registration Certificate should show the Unit being in operation prior to 31.3.2004;

(c)   The list of equipments / capital goods (other than gang saw) set up by the applicant in the Unit for processing marble slabs / tiles should be prior to 31.3.2004, as per Balance Sheet as on 31.3.2004 duly certified by a Chartered Accountant;

(d)   Income Tax Return for the year 2003-04 indicating processing of marble by the Unit duly certified by a Chartered Accountant;

(e)   CA Certificate indicating indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs / tiles of years 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09; and

(f)    A copy of Chartered Accountant certified statement of accounts, filed along with Balance Sheet to Income Tax authorities for each of the years i.e. 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 (in order to prove the indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs / tiles of atleast Rs. 1 crore in each of the 5 years).

4.     The last date for receipt of application shall be 2.11.2009. The applications may be submitted to the concerned RA of DGFT.

5.     The inter-se allocation of quota shall be computed based on the full quota for the year 2009-10 as per the Policy notified vide Notification No. 15/2009-2014 dated 15th October, 2009 (and as amended by Notification No. 16 dated 23rd October, 2009). The quantities to eligible applicants shall be pro-rated for the balance quota of this year (after the said computation for the whole year).

6.     This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

Import Procedures of Rough Marble Blocks/Slabs w.e.f 1 October 2009

Sub: Policy for issue of import licences of Rough Marble Blocks/Slabs, w.e.f. 1st October, 2009.

In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-14, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in Schedule-I (Imports) to the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items:

2.     Import Licensing Note No. (2) inserted at the end of Chapter 25, will be amended to read as follows:

(A)   A number of representations have been received from the various associations of marble manufacturers/processors for review of the regime governing import of marble. The matter has been considered carefully by the Government. The following Policy provisions will henceforth be applicable for import of rough marble blocks/slabs w.e.f. 1st October, 2009. This Policy will supercede earlier Policy/Guidelines for issue of import licences of rough marble blocks/slabs.

(B)   Attention is invited to EXIM Code Nos. 25151100, 25151210, 25151220, 25151290 indicated in Schedule-1 (imports) of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items. As per the provisions contained therein, import of Marble and Travertine - Crude or Roughly trimmed, Merely cut, by sawing or otherwise, into blocks or slabs of a rectangular (including square) shape & other Calcareous Stone is restricted and subject to import licensing procedures.

(C)   The applications for import licence under the above-mentioned Exim Codes will be considered in the following manner: -

I.      Eligibility of the units will be decided based on the following two criteria:

(a)   Units who have installed marble gang saw machine (except 100% EOUs and units in SEZ). However, the marble gang saw machine shall be in the name of the applicant only. No gang saw on Lease Basis shall be considered for the purpose of allocation of import entitlement.

The Units should have been in operation for 5 years prior to 1st April of the current licensing year.

(b)   All eligible units as per (a) above should have indigenous sales turnover of processed marble slabs/tiles only, of Rs.1.00 Crore (Rupees one Crore only) and above in each of the previous five financial years.

II.     Floor Price-

It is further clarified that these licences shall be subject to the following floor price, which shall be endorsed on all licences.

i)      For crude or roughly trimmed marble – US$ 275 per Metric Tonne (MT);

ii)     For rough marble blocks – US$ 275 per Metric Tonne (MT); and

iii)    For rough Slabs – US$ 450 per Metric Tonne (MT)

III.    Entitlement:

The total import of rough marble blocks under Exim Code Nos.25151100, 25151210, 25151220, will be subject to a ceiling of 3 lakh MT for the whole of the licensing year. Eligible unit will be entitled for an import licence pro rata on the basis of average indigenous sales turnover of processed marble slabs/tiles only, in the previous five financial years. The quantity so calculated will however be subject to the following overall ceiling: -

(a)   Unit having one marble gang saw machine will be entitled for a maximum licence of 3,000 MT of marble blocks/slabs.

(b)   Units having more than one marble gang saw machine will be entitled for a maximum licence of 3000 MT of marble blocks/slabs for the first gang saw machine, and 1500 MT of marble blocks/slabs for each of the additional marble gang saw machines.

IV.    All licences shall be subject to actual user condition.

V.     In this regard Licence holders shall file monthly returns regarding imports made by them to the concerned Regional Licensing Authority.

VI.    The eligible applicants may file an application (after the applications are so invited for the said licensing year) in the form given in ‘Aayaat Niryaat Form’ together with all relevant documents, to the concerned Regional Authority of DGFT. The eligibility of the applicants with respect to para 2(I) above shall be decided based on verification/certificate from the concerned State Government. RA concerned would forward the applications of eligible applicants to DGFT, HQ for further consideration. For verification of the eligibility and entitlement the RA shall be guided by Policy Circular No.20 (RE-08)/2004-09 dated 16.7.2008 and Policy Circular No.25 (RE-08)/2004-09 dated 8.8.2008, regarding the required documents, with appropriate timelines.

Rough Marble Import by Gang Saw Units – I

Sub: Guidelines for import of Rough Blocks and Slabs of agglomerated/artificial stones for the year 2008-09.

Attention is invited to Policy Circular No.35(RE-08)/2004-2009 dated 10.10.2008 on the subject mentioned above.Vide the Circular, licences for import of aforementioned items have been issued to eligible entities.

2.     Representations have been received from the Association of eligible entities who received the licences for rough blocks/slabs of agglomerated/artificial stones stating that on account of slow down in the economy and real estate sector, demand for agglomerated/artificial stones has temporarily come down very significantly. Accordingly, Association has requested that for the said allotted quota, the licence holders may be provided an option to import either the items indicated in the licence or rough marble blocks/slabs as detailed in Policy Circular No. 13 12 (RE-08)/2004-2009 dated 30.6.2008 27.06.2008.

3.     The matter has been examined and the request of the Association has been agreed to by the competent authority. Accordingly, it is clarified that all licence holders of rough/ unprocessed blocks and slabs of agglomerated/artificial stones, issued to them as per provisions of Policy Circular No.35 dated 10.10.2008 are hereby given an option to either import rough marble blocks/slabs (Exim Code Nos. 25151100, 25151210, 25151220, 25151290 indicated in Schedule-1 (imports) of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-2009) or the items indicated in their licenses, i.e. artificial/agglomerated stones. The import of rough marble blocks/slabs under these licences, if any, shall be subject to all the conditions including floor prices, among others, as applicable on import of rough marble blocks/slabs notified by the Government. Eligible entities may approach the RA concerned for getting an endorsement to this effect made on their licences within a period of 15 days from date of issue of this Circular.

4.     This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

Rough Marble Import by Gang Saw Units – II

Subject: Guidelines for import of Rough Marble Blocks/Slabs for the year 2008-09.

A number of representations have been received from the various associations of marble manufacturers/processors for review of the regime governing import of marble. The matter has been considered carefully by the Government. The following provisions will henceforth be applicable for import of rough marble blocks/slabs for the year 2008-09.

1.    Attention is invited to EXIM Code Nos. 25151100, 25151210, 25151220, 25151290 indicated in Schedule-1 (imports) of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-2009.  As per the provisions contained therein, import of Marble and Travertine - Crude or Roughly trimmed, Merely cut, by sawing or otherwise, into blocks or slabs of a rectangular (including square) shape & other Calcareous Stone is restricted and subject to import licensing procedures. 

2.     In addition to the provisions notified vide Policy Circular No. 12 (RE-08) dated 27th June 2008, further applications for import under the above-mentioned Exim Codes will be considered in the following manner: -

I.      Eligibility of the units will be decided based on the following two criteria:

(a)  Units who have installed marble gang saw machine (except 100% EOU’s, units in SEZ and units who have been granted marble block import licences under previous licensing years or are eligible to avail licence in the current licensing year (2008-09) under SIL category). The units should have been in operation since prior to 31.03.2001.

(b)  All eligible units as per (a) above should have indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs/tiles only, of Rs.1.00 Crore (Rupees one Crore only) and above in each of the three financial years 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07.

II.     Floor Price

It is further clarified that these licences shall be subject to the following floor price which shall be endorsed on all licences.

i)  For crude or roughly trimmed marble – US$275 per Metric Tonne (MT);

ii) For rough marble blocks – US$275 per Metric Tonne (MT); and

iii)                                     For Slabs – US$ 450 per Metric Tonne (MT)

The total import of rough marble blocks under Exim Code Nos.25151100, 25151210, 25151220, for this category of units, will be subject to a ceiling of 1.40 lakh MT for this year.  Eligible unit will be entitled for an import licence pro rata on the basis of average indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs/tiles only, in the financial years 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07. The quantity so calculated will be subject to the following overall ceiling: -

(a)   Unit having one marble gang saw machine will be entitled for a maximum licence of 3,000 MT of marble blocks/slabs.

(b)   Units having more than one marble gang saw machine will be entitled for a maximum licence of 3000 MT of marble blocks/slabs for the first gang saw machine and 1500 MT of marble blocks/slabs per additional marble gang saw machine.

IV   The last date for receiving applications will be 1st August 2008.

V.   All licences shall be subject to actual user condition.

VI.  In this regard Licence holders shall file monthly returns regarding imports made by them to the concerned Regional Licensing Authority.

VII. The eligible applicants may file an application in the form given in ‘Aayaat Niryaat Form’ together with all relevant documents, to the concerned Regional Authority of DGFT. The eligibility of the applicants with respect to para 2(I) above shall be decided based on verification from the concerned state government. RA concerned would forward the applications of eligible applicants to DGFT, HQ for further consideration.   

3.             This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

Documentation for Rough Marble Imports by Gang Saw Units

Sub: Documents/verification required to establish eligibility and entitlement of units for import of rough marble blocks/slabs under Policy Circular No.13 (RE-08)/ 2004-2009 dated 30.6.2008.

Representations have been received seeking clarification regarding eligibility and entitlement of units for import of rough marble blocks/slabs for the year 2008-09, as per Policy Circular No.13 dated 30.6.2008. The matter has been examined in the Department and accordingly, it is clarified:

2.    For establishment of eligibility and entitlement of the unit, the applicants shall be required to submit the following documents, along with their application:-

i)   A certificate issued by State Industry Department (District Industry Center) stating whether the applicant, as on date, has established gang saw in his unit or not. The verification shall also state number of gang saws established by the unit.

ii)  The SSI/SIA Registration Certificate duly certified by State Industry Department (District Industry Center) indicating that the unit has been in operation since prior to 31.3.2001.

iii) List of equipments/capital goods set up by the applicant in its unit prior to 31.3.2001, showing processing equipment for marble slabs/tiles, as per the balance sheet submitted to income tax authorities for the Year 2000-01, duly certified by a Chartered Accountant.

iv) Copy of income tax return for the year 2000-01, indicating processing of marble by the unit, duly certified by a Chartered Accountant.

v)  A Charted Accountant Certificate indicating the indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs/tiles of the applicant for the years 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07. The CA certificate is to be supported by certified copies of income tax returns filed by the applicant for each of the years and by certified copies of VAT/Sales Tax returns filed by the applicant for each of the years indicating the indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs/tiles.

vi) The sale against Form H and other relevant Forms, job work income earned by any unit sawing marble blocks of third parties in to slabs/tiles and the amount of excise duty, service tax and sales tax/VAT paid on such indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs/tiles may also be included for calculating indigenous sales turnover of the applicant.

Vii)     With regard to calculation of indigenous sales turnover, it is further clarified that the turnover will include the net sales after deducting the sales returns from the gross sales. It is also clarified that the turnover of the applicant only shall be taken into consideration and the turnover of group concerns/ sister concerns/ subsidiaries etc. shall not be counted for calculating the turnover.

3.    The applications must accompany all the above documents for consideration. Applications found incomplete shall be rejected.

4.    The last date for receiving application has been accordingly extended up to 15.8.2008.

5.    The other conditions of the aforementioned Policy Circular i.e. Policy Circular No.13 dated 30.6.2008 shall remain applicable.

6.    This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

CA Certified Statement of Accounts Filed along with Balance Sheet to IT Authorities Required for Rough Marble Imports

Attention is invited to Policy Circular No.13 (RE-08)/2004 2009 dated 30.6.2008 and Policy Circular No.20 (RE-08) 2004-2009 dated 16.7.2008 regarding eligibility and entitlement of units for import of rough marble blocks/slabs for the year 2008-09.

2.    In addition to the requirements prescribed in aforementioned two Policy Circulars, the applicants shall also be required to furnish a copy of Chartered Accountant certified statement of accounts, filed along with balance sheet to the income tax authorities for each of the years i.e. 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07.  This is necessary to establish the eligibility of the unit that they have an indigenous sales turnover of marble slabs/tiles of Rs.1 crore and above in each of the three financial years i.e 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2006-07.

3.    This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.

Another 25% Marble Quota Released for the Year 2009-10

Sub: Guidelines for import of Rough Marble Blocks/Slabs for the year 2008-09.

Attention is invited to Policy Circular No.13 (RE-08)/2004-2009 dated 30.6.2009 on the subject mentioned above. Representations have been received from trade and industry, who have been granted licences for import of rough marble blocks/slabs for the year 2008-09 and for the first three months of the year 2009-10 under the aforementioned Policy Circular. The representations request for release of the balance quota of 75% for the year 2009-10.

2.     The representations have been examined and with the approval of competent authority, it is informed that it has been decided to grant another 25% of the quota to the erstwhile licencees under the aforementioned Circulars.

3.     Accordingly, all licence holders of rough marble blocks/slabs issued to them under the provisions of Policy Circular No.13 (RE-08)/2004-2009, may apply to concerned RA of DGFT for enhancing the quantity in their licence by upto another 25% of the quantity granted to them in the year 2008-09. The import of enhanced quantity shall be subject to all the conditions applicable on import of rough marble blocks/slabs indicated in relevant Circulars.

Marble and Building Stones Import Allowed through Kolkata Port under Indo-Sri Lanka FTA

In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy –2004-09, the Central Government hereby amends Schedule – I (Imports) of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09 as under:

1.    “Import of items under Exim Codes 25151100, 25151210, 25151220, 25151290, 68021000, 68022110, 68022120, 68022190, 68022200, 68029100, 68029200 from Sri Lanka under the India-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (ISFTA) is allowed only through the Port of Kolkata.

2.    In addition to the condition mentioned at 1 above, import of these items shall also be subject to all the conditions applicable on imports under ISFTA.”
